Pre-Application Self-Check: Before applying, review the IPMA Individual Competence Baseline (ICB). For Level C, you typically need 3+ years of experience managing projects. Level D has no experience prerequisite. IPMA Philippines may offer local information sessions to help you prepare.
Formal Application: Submit your application through the IPMA Philippines (the Certification Body or CB) website. You will provide details of your experience and pay the certification fee in Philippine Pesos (PHP). The CB will check your eligibility as per ICR 2025 rules.
The Assessment Phase:
For Level D, you will take a written exam focused on project management knowledge, which may be offered at designated local testing centers or online.
For Level C, the assessment has three parts:
A written examination.
A project experience report detailing a real project you managed.
A professional interview (often conducted online by certified assessors) to discuss your report and competencies.
Decision & Certification: Certified assessors will evaluate all your evidence. If successful, you will receive your certificate and be registered in the global IPMA database. If unsuccessful, you will get constructive feedback.
Maintaining Your Certification: IPMA certification is valid for five years. You must maintain a record of your Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities, such as training or conference attendance in the Philippines or abroad, to qualify for re-certification.
